Objective To explore the research hotspots and tendency of relation between inflammasomes and vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) based on the CiteSpace and VOSviewer softwares. Methods Literature related to the relation between inflammasomes and VCI collected by the database of Web of Science from 2013 to 2023 was retrieved. The bibliometric tools CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to visually analyze the number of publications, research institutions and keywords, and to draw a network knowledge map. Results A total of 49 literature was enrolled. From 2013 to 2023, the annual number of publications on relation between inflammasomes and VCI exhibited an overall increase. A total of 29 institutions were involved in, and the institution with the largest number of publications was the National University of Singapore. Most research teams had cooperative relationships, and some research teams had close cooperation. Fudan University and Shandong First Medical University (Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences) in China had both published 2 literature, but they also cooperated with foreign institutions to some extent. The research hotspots of relation between inflammasomes and VCI were inflammasomes, vascular dementia, inflammation, chronic cerebral hypoperfusion, etc., which mainly focused on the pathogenesis of VCI, among them, NOD⁃like receptor family pyrin⁃domain containing 3 inflammasome had formed a cluster module, and the research popularity was relatively high. Conclusion The research on relation between inflammasomes and VCI is still in the exploratory stage, and the number of publications in China is relatively small. However, there is mutual cooperation with various research institutions, and the research scale is beginning to take shape, and in⁃depth research in this field can be carried out in the future.
