Objective To observe the application effect of Jingyao Jiedu Powder external application in patients with mild⁃moderate Trimeresurus stejnegeri snakebite. Methods A total of 80 patients with mild⁃moderate Trimeresurus stejnegeri snakebite were selected as the research subjects, and they were randomly divided into observation group or control group using a random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment, based on which the observation group received Jingyao Jiedu Powder external application for treatment. The Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score for limb pain on the bitten side, skin ecchymosis score, coagulation function indicators in terms of fibrinogen (FIB), thrombin time (TT), prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), inflammatory factors with respect to high⁃sensitivity C⁃reactive protein (hs⁃CRP), white blood cell count (WBC) before and after treatment, as well as the Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome efficacy after treatment, were compared between the two groups. Results After 72 hours of treatment, the observation group exhibited lower VAS score for limb pain on the bitten side, skin ecchymosis score, and shorter TT, PT, APTT, as well as lower hs⁃CRP, and WBC, whereas a higher FIB compared to the control group. The Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome efficacy in the observation group was also superior to that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with conventional treatment alone, the combination of Jingyao Jiedu Powder external application in the treatment of patients with mild⁃moderate Trimeresurus stejnegeri snakebite can more effectively improve coagulation function, reduce inflammatory response, effectively alleviate pain and skin ecchymosis in patients, and enhance the therapeutic effect.
