Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) refers to diminished ovarian functions in women before 40 years old. The common clinical manifestations include irregular menstruation and decreased fertility, etc. This disease may not only lead to infertility, but also is associated with a variety of systemic diseases, such as osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, urogenital atrophy, hypoestrogenic symptoms, and metabolic abnormalities, all of which can affect women's mental and physical health. Currently, there is no reliable and effective means to improve ovarian reserve capacity of POI patients. Therefore, timely identification of POI risk population and early intervention are the key steps to improve ovarian function and enhance fertility. This paper mainly reviews the screening, management and fertility guidance of POI risk population, aiming at providing a reference for improving fertility of this population and ameliorating their ovarian reserve function.
