The establishment of a standardized, scientific and normalized animal biosafety level 2 (ABSL⁃2) laboratory is an important condition to ensure the smooth development of pathogenic microorganism teaching and scientific research. Taking the ABSL⁃2 laboratory of Liuzhou People's Hospital as an example, this paper introduces the basic situation of the laboratory, and elaborates the management and operation mode of the ABSL⁃2 laboratory from the aspects of laboratory qualification management, biosafety management system construction, daily management work, scientific research project management, emergency plan implementation, and biosafety supervision and inspection.
