Blood products play a critical role in the fields such as healthcare, public health, and national defense security. In recent years, China's blood product market has experienced sustained demand growth, yet it faces challenges such as raw material shortages, technological barriers, and import dependency. Leveraging its abundant plasma resources and geographic advantages, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (hereinafter referred to as Guangxi) has driven transformative industrial development by introducing relevant enterprises and establishing entire industrial chain for blood product production and processing. This paper analyzes the characteristics and current status of the blood product industry, exploring Guangxi's innovative approaches as follows: policy innovation and technology empowerment (e.g., the “Shanghai research and development+Guangxi production+ASEAN application” model), cross⁃border collaboration model (ASEAN raw material plasma collection⁃Guangxi deep processing⁃ASEAN sales), and positioning Guangxi as the “China⁃ASEAN Blood Product Research, Development and Production Center”, aiming at promoting regional industrial synergy while supporting China's strategic reserve needs for establishing a Southwestern Security Barrier.
